For these purposes:
- Any foreign citizen who enters Ecuador legally, stays in the country for less than 90 days, and does not have temporary or permanent residence in the country will be considered a foreign tourist.
- Guests must prove their status as non-resident foreigners at the time of check-in by presenting their identity document.
- The lodging invoice must be issued to a natural person, non-resident foreigner, or to a company not domiciled in Ecuador.
- Fees and taxes are subject to change, those in force at the date of issuance of the invoice apply.
