Here, you can explore the Adler Planetarium, enjoy a concert at the Huntington Bank Pavilion, and relax at the Northerly Island Natural Area or 12th Street Beach. Take a walk and admire the numerous art installations scattered throughout the park. Accessible via a scenic causeway, Solidarity Drive, that leads directly to the planetarium, Northerly Island is an unmissable attraction for any visitor to Chicago.

Lake Michigan Bike/Walk path

One of Chicago's most beautiful assets, its expansive shoreline, is on display in its full glory from the Lakefront Trail. An impressive 18-mile-long stretch, Chicago's Lakefront Trail is a paved path that extends from Ardmore Street (5800 N. Sheridan Road) on the North Side to 71st Street (7100 S. South Shore Drive) on the South Side.

Magnificent Mile

Shopping
1 mi. away
There is no more iconic Chicago street than the Magnificent Mile. Running the length of Michigan Avenue from the Chicago River to Lake Shore Drive, the ‘Mag Mile’ is the heart of the city’s shopping district. Here, posh brand name stores stand alongside historic and luxury hotels and landmarks such as the Water Tower and Pumping Station, the one of the few structures left standing after the Great Chicago Fire of 1871.

Wabash Arts Corridor

Recreation
In 2013, Columbia College Chicago launched the Wabash Arts Corridor to immerse students in the creative spirit by using urban spaces and reclaimable resources to revitalize and transform the South Loop business district into one of the city’s major cultural assets. The heart of WAC is Wabash Avenue from Van Buren to Roosevelt and is framed to the east by Michigan Avenue and to the west by State Street. The corridor is regarded as an “living urban canvas” due to its ever growing number of large-scale mural installations and collaborative projects.

Theater District

Theater
2 mi. away
Highly respected for both the diversity and quality of its theater offerings, Chicago is known for producing highly creative works performed by top-caliber talent. The city's theatrical diversity is evident in the sheer quantity of live productions that abound, from record-breaking Broadway shows and award-winning regional plays to experimental storefront and edgy fringe theater performances. Brightly lit marquees along Dearborn and Randolph Streets mark an area in the Loop famously known as the Theater District. Within the span of four city blocks are such magnificently restored venues as the Cadillac Palace Theatre, Ford Center for the Performing Arts/Oriental Theatre, The Chicago Theatre, Bank of America Theatre and Goodman Theatre. Not far from the Loop Theater District is the Auditorium Theatre of Roosevelt University, which is housed in a landmark building designed by famed architects Dankmar Adler and Louis Sullivan.
