Senior Vice President, Sales

Bharet Malhotra is the Senior Vice President of Sales at Cvent. He has been with the Company since its inception and has played an integral role in scaling Cvent’s Hospitality Cloud business to become a market-leading group, corporate travel, and MICE technology provider.

As Senior Vice President of Sales at Cvent, Bharet Malhotra leads the company’s global Hospitality Cloud sales and development strategy. Under Bharet’s leadership, Cvent has established long-term relationships with hotel executives around the world from leading brands including AccorHotels, Hilton, Hyatt, Intercontinental Hotels Group, Marriott, Ritz-Carlton and Starwood, to help them grow their business.

As part of the founding Executive team, Bharet has been instrumental in growing the Company organically and through strategic acquisitions. Today, Cvent’s robust portfolio of supplier and venue solutions connects more than 302,000 hotels and venues with an active global network of more than 110,000 event planners, helping to deliver millions of events at tens of thousands of hotels around the world. 

Cvent technology has enabled the world’s top hotel brands to increase planner visibility and drive group and transient revenue through Cvent’s sourcing platforms, including the Cvent Supplier Network, through which $14 billion dollars of group business was sourced in 2022.

In 2013, Cvent's IPO (NYSE: CVT) boasted a market capitalization of more than $1 billion. In 2016, Cvent was taken private by Vista Equity Partners for $1.65 billion, providing a 70% premium for Cvent stockholders. In December 2021, Cvent returned to the public markets on the Nasdaq. In March 2023, Cvent entered into an agreement with Blackstone to be acquired for $4.6B. The transaction closed in June 2023, making Cvent a private company under Blackstone, one of the world’s largest private equity firms.

Bharet has presented at numerous marquee industry events including Starwood’s Ownership conference, Marriott’s Travel Conference, the FRHI Top Customer Event, Kimpton’s Sales Leadership Awards and the HSMAI Revenue Optimization Conference (ROC); and has advised senior leaders at top hotel chains on how best to leverage technology and planner relationships to drive positive results. 

Bharet earned a bachelor's degree from Duke University in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Economics. Following graduation, Bharet served on the Duke University Alumni Board of Directors and was President of the Engineering Alumni Association.
